WIN AN OPEL GRANDLAND HYBRID

The Irish Farmers Journal is running a reader competition in association with Gowan Group, to win an Opel Grandland Excellence SC series Hybrid, worth €44,266 from new, including metallic paint and delivery. Click here for full product information.

Terms and conditions:

1.      The competition is being promoted by The Agricultural Trust (trading as the Irish Farmers Journal). The Agricultural Trust is a company limited by guarantee, having its registered office at The Irish Farm Centre, Naas Rd, Bluebell, Dublin 12, Ireland.

2.      The "Competition Partner" is Gowan Group Ltd, 8 Appian Way, Ranelagh, Dublin 6, D06 NV29, the official Irish distributor of Opel.

3.      To enter this competition, you need to collect four tokens and complete the competition entry form (available on the dates 30 July, 6 August, 13 August, 20 August, and 27 August 2026) from the Irish Farmers Journal newspaper (print edition) and post to: Opel Grandland Competition, Irish Farmers Journal, Irish Farm Centre, Naas Rd, Bluebell, Dublin 12, D12 YXW5.

4.      Closing date: entries must be received by Friday 4 September 2026.

5.      This offer is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

6.      If the winner is resident in Northern Ireland, additional time and paperwork will be required to register the vehicle for use there, including a UK vehicle registration application and the issue of a Northern Ireland registration plate. This carries a UK registration fee (currently £55) and may involve further requirements or costs, such as vehicle tax, depending on individual circumstances. 7.      You must be aged 18 years and over, and hold a full, valid driving licence, to enter. The winner may be required to show proof of their driving licence prior to handover of the prize.

8.      No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received, for whatever reason. Proof of delivery of an entry is not proof of receipt by The Agricultural Trust.

9.      Photocopied, re-produced or printed entry forms are not valid entries. Valid entries are limited to original newsprint entry forms and tokens printed in the Irish Farmers Journal newspaper.

10.   Paid Premium Digital, Print Standard, and Print Premium subscribers are automatically entered. Their subscription must be active on 28 July 2026. Subscribers can enter more than once by posting in an entry form by post.

11.   The entry form must be completed in full, or your entry won't be valid.

12.   Multiple entries submitted by the same person are acceptable, provided they use separate, original newsprint entry forms and tokens. However, one person may win only one prize — the first entry drawn in their name.

13.   Employees of The Agricultural Trust and Gowan Group, their family members, and newsagents and their employees, are not permitted to enter this competition.

14.   The Irish Farmers Journal will nominate a panel of independent adjudicators to oversee the selection of the winner. Their decision will be final.

15.   The first entry randomly selected from all entries received, and automatically entered subscribers, will be identified as the winner of the Grandland. The draw will take place the week following the closing date.

16.   If, for any reason, the selected entry is deemed invalid, another entry will be selected as the winner.

17.   The winner will be announced in the Irish Farmers Journal the week following the draw, or the week after.

18.   The winner will be contacted by the phone number supplied on the competition entry form. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner. The winner must be in a position to confirm their identity and eligibility, and The Agricultural Trust reserves the right to request proof of age (verifiable by birth certificate or passport only) and proof of address (verifiable by a recent utility bill only, issued within 6 months). Failure to do so will disqualify them from the competition.

19.   The winner will assume responsibility for the vehicle upon handover of the prize and is solely responsible for all costs associated with it, including annual motor tax and car insurance.

20.   The winner will be announced in the paper and on social media on print week of the 24^th of September or the following week.

21.   The prize vehicle is a registered 261 D Opel Grandland Excellence SC series Hybrid. As the vehicle is used in the production of promotional video content for this competition prior to being awarded, it will carry a small amount of low mileage accumulated during that promotional shoot at the time of handover.

22.   The prize is not transferable to a third party. There is no cash alternative for this prize. The prize is subject to availability, and the Competition Partner reserves the right to substitute the prize with a different prize of similar value, at its sole discretion.

23.   A condition of winning the competition is that the winner will agree to take part in any post-competition publicity, without payment. The company shall, in its sole discretion, direct such post-competition publicity. The winner must likewise agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material.

24.   The Irish Farmers Journal reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition or any of the terms and conditions of the competition without notice, and for any reason whatsoever. Any such amendments to the competition or to the terms and conditions will be updated on this page.

25.   The Irish Farmers Journal's decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

26.   By entering the competition (by way of completing and submitting an entry form), an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of the competition.

27.   The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Irish law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

28.   The Irish Farmers Journal will not be liable for any damage caused to, or for, lost or illegible entries.

29.   Gowan Motors will provide the winner up to five year unlimited mileage warranty.

30.   Data protection: any personal data relating to the winner and any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Irish data protection legislation and GDPR, and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant's prior consent. Personal data will be held and used solely to administer this competition, until 31 December 2026, after which it will not be used for further direct marketing without the entrant's express permission.
